Nikki Anderson

Professional Practitioner in Holistic Therapy

The word ‘Holistic’ is derived from the Greek term ‘Halos’ which means whole.

It is about treating the body as a whole (Mind, Body and Spirit).

It is to nurture and nourish the entire ‘Being’ because if we ignore any of these areas, we are incomplete.

We lack wholeness and one does not function properly without the other ie dysfunction of the mind can create ‘dis’ –ease in the body..

If the mind, the body and the spirit are not functioning as a whole it has the potential to disturb the natural ‘homeostasis’ (natural balance and stability) of your whole ‘being’

How does it work – Holistic Body Massage is a therapy which treats the whole body, Top to Toe (including the Face, Head, Hands and Feet as well as the Body, Trunk and Buttocks according to personal preference).

By stimulating the muscles through massage, the body works more efficiently, which in turn helps to boost the immune system, clears blockages (physical and mental), eliminating toxins, transporting nutrients to cells and increasing the interchange of oxygen, carbon dioxide and waste through the body’s system.

What does it involve? – Holistic Body Massage is a form of massage carried out by a Professional Practitioner. Holistic Body Massage utilises a wide variety of massage techniques and variable pressures according to body area and treatment required. Moves taken from Shiatsu, Chinese and Swedish massage, including Acupressure and Reflexology makes this a wonderfully unique massage, tailored to the individual. Using oils and essences according to Client’s preference and required end result.

The Massage can take anywhere from 30 minutes, concentrating on a localised area (this can be an accompaniment alongside another treatment), or 60 minutes for the whole body. Longer sessions can be provided upon request (and in advance of the actual appointment). Tailored to your special requirements, this treatment can be adapted to provide an intensely invigorating or deeply relaxing massage.

What is it good for? – Holistic Body Massage is especially useful for individuals who seem to suffer regularly from common illnesses like colds and flu. It is also recommended for people who lead stressful lives and those in need of some ‘Relaxation’ and those requiring ‘Balancing’. Depending on moves, this treatment has also been connected with the benefits of improving problem skin, fatty deposits/cellulite, the respiratory system and people with low energy levels.

Highly recommended for those taking on demanding

sports activities, as this type of massage helps to

prepare the muscles, warming them up prior to

physical exertion and helping the mind focus.

The benefits are numerous, as with all forms of holistic massage. Please click on GENERAL BENEFITS, CONTRA INDICATIONS, CONTRA ACTIONS, AFTER CARE and CONSULTATION FORM for further information.
